EU’s Former Top Diplomat, Official Arrested in Fraud Probe

Federica Mogherini, the former head of the European Union’s diplomatic arm, as well as a top EU official were both detained by Belgian police following raids into suspected fraud.

Mogherini, who has served as Rector of the College of Europe since September 2020, was detained on Tuesday, according to a person familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity.
