Cyber Monday Spending Pace Lags Black Friday for Second Year

Black Friday has supplanted Cyber Monday in online spending growth for the second year in a row, according to Adobe Inc., with deal-hunting consumers getting an early start on their holiday shopping.

US shoppers spent $14.25 billion online during Cyber Monday, up 7.1% from a year ago, compared with a 9.1% increase on Black Friday. The firm said spending in the five-day period from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday totaled $44.2 billion, up 7.7% from a year ago.
