A fast-moving storm has delayed flights nationwide and stands to give New Yorkers a slippery commute Tuesday morning before shifting to rain even as it drops heavy snow upstate and across New England.

The storm will start as snow in New York City after 4 a.m., changing to a mix of rain and snow throughout the morning, the National Weather Service said. Less than half an inch is likely to accumulate before it transitions to all rain by 10 a.m. and temperatures rise near 40F (4C).
