The UK’s fiscal watchdog, the Office for Budget Responsibility, blamed its own leadership for an error that led to the early disclosure of its budget analysis before Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves delivered last week’s statement.

The OBR found that its budget analysis was accessed early due to people “entering a predictable internet address” that gave access to the document. It said a similar breach also happened at Reeves’ last economic statement in March, though without incurring major consequences.
