Takaichi to Secure Majority in Powerful Lower House, Reports Say

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi looks set to secure a majority in the powerful lower house of parliament with a small caucus joining her ruling coalition, local media reports said Thursday.

Three lawmakers belonging to the “Reform Association” parliamentary group have decided to join the ruling coalition of Takaichi’s Liberal Democratic Party and its partner, the Japan Innovation Party, known as Ishin, according to the reports.
