South Africa’s Industrial Gas Users Form Company to Pool Demand

A group of South Africa’s industrial gas users has created a company to prepare for an expected drop in their current fuel supply.

Nearly two dozen founding shareholders, including traders and customers, formed a nonprofit called GasHub to combine their demand for gas, ahead of a steep decline in output from Sasol Ltd.’s Mozambique fields around 2028. Several LNG import terminals are planned that could eventually feed gas into the same pipeline network.
