Leonardo SpA unveiled an integrated defense system that uses artificial intelligence to neutralize a range of threats, from hypersonic weapons to drone swarms and naval attacks, in a bid to strengthen its role in European multi-domain security.

The system, dubbed Michelangelo Dome, aims to coordinate warfare platforms from below sea level to out in space across a single network, and has a potential market of €203 billion ($235 billion) over the next ten years, according to a presentation from the state-controlled Italian company.
