EU Must Make a Move on Frozen Russian Assets, Lithuania Says
The European Union must move urgently on tapping Russian frozen assets as a way to gain a seat at the negotiating table over peace in Ukraine, Lithuania’s top diplomat said.
Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys said the role of the immobilized central bank assets in current negotiations shows they are an essential component to reaching a deal. He reinforced calls for EU allies to strike an agreement on how to tap the funds.
