Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt said he would be “reluctant” to welcome Chinese-owned business ventures into his state, another indication of how US-China tensions have reverberated across America’s local politics.

“We would be a little reluctant to open up, with open arms, Chinese-invested businesses in the state of Oklahoma, just personally, just because of some potential conflicts there,” Stitt, a Republican, said Friday during a Bloomberg Television interview on the sidelines of the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in Singapore.
