Reform UK’s former leader in Wales was sentenced to 10 and-a-half years in prison after pleading guilty to making pro-Russian statements for cash, raising uncomfortable questions for Nigel Farage and his poll-topping-party.

Nathan Gill was sentenced for eight counts of bribery between December 2018 and July 2019, when he represented Farage’s former UK Independence Party in the European parliament. His crimes included making pro-Russian statements in the European Parliament about events in Ukraine in exchange for money paid by a Ukrainian politician.
