The US Has Japan’s Back in Any Dispute with China, Glass Says

The US has Japan’s back in its dispute with China over remarks made by Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi about Taiwan, US Ambassador to Japan George Glass said Thursday, adding that some of the reaction from Beijing has been “outrageous.”

“This is a classic case of Chinese economic coercion, and I just want to say directly from the president and from myself and from the embassy for the Prime Minister, we have her back,” Glass said after a meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi.
