Neuralink Rival Paradromics Cleared to Start Brain Implant Trial
Paradromics Inc., a brain implant company and rival to Elon Musk’s Neuralink Corp., has gained US approval to begin its first clinical trial, a key step toward making its technology available to people with paralysis and speech issues.
The Austin-based company plans to launch a study in the first quarter of 2026 with two people who struggle to move or speak, according to Chief Executive Officer Matt Angle. The chip they’ll receive is designed to allow people to think words and have them appear on a computer screen or come out of a speech synthesizer.
