BNY Wins Court Fight With Former Consultant on Investment Model

Bank of New York Mellon Corp. won a court fight with a former consultant who claimed the bank improperly used his model for evaluating wind-energy investments and shared it with an accounting firm.

After a five-day trial in New York, jurors agreed that the consultant, Andre Pauwels, failed to prove that BNY Mellon had unjustly enriched itself at his expense by continuing to use his model after his relationship with the bank ended. The verdict was reached Wednesday.
