Travis Hill’s nomination to serve as head of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was advanced by a Senate panel on Wednesday, moving him one step closer to a final confirmation vote by the US Senate.

The Senate Banking Committee’s vote on President Donald Trump’s FDIC pick comes as Hill continues to serve in an interim capacity following the resignation of Biden-era FDIC Chair Martin Gruenberg earlier this year. It is not clear when the full Senate will hold a floor vote.
