Exxon Mobil Corp. officials met with Iraqi Oil Minister Hayyan Abdul Ghani Wednesday where they discussed Lukoil PJSC’s stake in the West Qurna 2 field, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

Exxon and its US rival Chevron Corp. are interested in Lukoil’s international assets, including the major oil field in southern Iraqi which accounts for about 10% of the country’s production, Bloomberg News reported this week. They’re among a growing roster of suitors for the Russian giant’s sprawling global business.
