Donohoe Quits as Eurogroup Chair for World Bank’s No. 2 Job
Paschal Donohoe will quit as Ireland’s finance minister to become managing director at the World Bank, ending a career of almost two decades in domestic politics.
The 51-year-old, who also heads the meetings of his euro-area peers, has been offered the No. 2 position, according to the World Bank. He will take up the role on Nov. 24.
