British Columbia’s $210 Billion Pension Starts Quantum-Proofing

British Columbia Investment Management Corp., a pension fund managing C$295 billion ($210 billion) in assets, is stepping up preparations for the rewards and great risks of a world with quantum computing.

Quantum computers hold the promise of being able to solve problems that today’s so-called classical processors can’t. That could unlock positives for asset managers like BCI such as being able to model more complex investment scenarios.
