George Osborne Is Surprise HSBC Chairman Contender, Sky Reports

Former UK Chancellor George Osborne is one of three candidates shortlisted to become the next chairman of HSBC Holdings Plc, Sky News reported on Saturday, citing sources it didn’t identify.

Osborne was approached during the summer about the role, one of the biggest jobs in global banking, Sky said. His limited experience chairing public companies makes him a surprise contender, the news service said.
