South Africa Hits Out at Ratings ‘Bias’ as Upgrade Awaited

South Africa would welcome an upgrade of its credit rating, but Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana isn’t holding his breath.

“My sense is that it’s not a foregone conclusion,” Godongwana said in an interview in Cape Town on the eve of a review by S&P Global Ratings. “It’s going to be a bonus if they give us a better rating.”
