Good morning, this is Savio Shetty, an equities reporter in Mumbai. Nifty futures and Asian stocks are pointing to a subdued start for India after local shares capped their third straight daily advance on Wednesday. The mood is optimistic though — thanks to the prospects of a possible US-India trade deal, lower oil prices and rising bets that the Fed may cut rates next month. Adding to the cheer, India’s inflation cooled to a record low in October, giving economists more reason to expect cuts in borrowing costs at home too. Focus today is on some US macro numbers due later, including CPI and jobless claims, as well as a bevy of domestic earnings — including from Tata Motors, Hero MotoCorp and LG Electronics India, whose shares surged in their Mumbai trading debut last month.
