India’s Probe of ‘Terrorist Incident’ Focuses on Local Group

India’s government said Monday’s deadly explosion in New Delhi was a “terrorist incident,” with investigations now focused on a locally-based group who may have plotted the attack.

The probe has unearthed a terror plot that was planned in a New Delhi suburb and involved medical professionals, officials with the knowledge of the matter said, asking not to be identified as the information is not public. The explosion in a moving car killed at least eight people and injured many more near New Delhi’s historic Red Fort.
