CD&R Explores Acquisition of Packaging Firm Sealed Air

Clayton Dubilier & Rice is exploring a potential acquisition of Sealed Air Corp., the packaging company that invented Bubble Wrap, people with knowledge of the matter said.

The private equity firm has held talks with Sealed Air to express its interest in a deal, according to the people, who asked not to be identified because the information wasn’t public. Some of the people said any buyer for Sealed Air could pursue a breakup of the company, which has food and protective packaging businesses.
