A group of companies that include ABB Ltd. and steel producer SSAB AB are poised to invest alongside Swedish utility Vattenfall AB to build the nation’s first nuclear reactors since the 1980s.
As a first step, the group that also include Alfa Laval AB, miner Boliden AB and Hitachi Energy among others, is set to buy a 20% stake in Vattenfall’s project company for new nuclear, the consortium said in a statement on Monday. The group will invest an initial 400 million Swedish Kronor ($42 million) in the project.
