Sunderland AFC is in talks to sell a stake in its women’s team, joining a growing number of European football clubs looking to capitalize on the rising profile and financial potential of women’s football.

The Premier League club is speaking to three parties about a stake sale, people familiar with the matter said, asking not to be named discussing private information.
