Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves has submitted her major tax-and-spend plans to the UK’s independent Office for Budget Responsibility, a key moment ahead of her set-piece budget on Nov. 26.
The plans, which the Times newspaper said on Thursday evening include increasing income tax, without saying how it obtained the information, will now be formally assessed by the OBR. The fiscal watchdog will tell Reeves how the plans would affect economic forecasts, before the chancellor finalizes her decisions.
