ECB’s Elderson Says Some Downside Growth Risks Have Eased

European Central Bank Executive Board member Frank Elderson said some of the dangers facing the region’s economy have eased, though the outlook remains unpredictable.

Among the positives, Elderson — who rarely comments on monetary policy — cited the tariff agreement between the European Union and the US, as well as progress in trade negotiations between Washington and Beijing and the ceasefire in the Middle East.
