Norway Counter-Espionage Unit Joins Nobel Prize Leak Probe

Norway’s National Security Authority is assisting in an investigation into an unusual betting surge on this year’s Nobel Peace Prize recipient that raised the specter that the winner’s identity may have leaked.

Kristian Berg Harpviken, the director of the Nobel Institute that awards the prize, confirmed by text message media reports that the institute is in contact with the security authority on Thursday, declining to provide further details about the ongoing probe. NSM confirmed in a separate email it’s in dialog with the institute and that it assists as needed, declining to comment further.
