Air France-KLM To Review Dutch Carrier’s Model as Costs Spiral

Photographer: Chris Ratcliffe/BloombergAir France-KLM said it’s under “enormous pressure” to review the business model of its Dutch KLM carrier amid soaring airport charges, plane ticket taxes and inflation in the Netherlands.
“All options are on the table” to protect KLM’s profitability, Chief Executive Officer Ben Smith said on a media call Thursday after the company reported weaker-than-expected earnings. Measures include possible adjustments to the number of planes, as well as the types of aircraft, destinations and staff levels, he said.
