US Stocks Fall as Risk-Off Sentiment Returns to the Market

Photographer: Michael Nagle/BloombergUS stocks tumbled on Tuesday as risk-off sentiment returned to financial markets following results from Palantir Technologies Inc. and warnings from Wall Street chief executives that the equity market was due for a pullback.
The S&P 500 Index fell 1.2% in New York, snapping a two-session win streak for the US benchmark. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 Index dropped 2.1%. Meanwhile, the Cboe Volatility Index hovered at around 19 and the S&P 500 Equal-Weighted Index fell 0.3%.
