Finns’ faith in NATO’s security guarantees recovered since last spring after the US reaffirmed its commitment to the defense alliance.

Now, 38% of Finns believe in the deterrent effect of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s collective defenses, according to a poll commissioned by the Finnish Business and Policy Forum EVA and published on Tuesday. That compares with a dip to 32% in the spring, when President Donald Trump called into doubt whether the US would unconditionally defend allies in the event of an attack.
