Oman called on fellow Gulf Arab states to fully engage with Iran and even include it in an expanded regional defense and security architecture.
“Over the years the GCC has at best sat back and permitted the isolation of Iran,” said Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, referring to the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council which includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. “I believe this needs to change and it needs to change now.”
