VW Says Outlook Depends on Chips as Nexperia Fallout Looms

Volkswagen AG warned it needs a sufficient supply of semiconductors to meet its financial targets this year, signaling that looming shortages of shortages of Nexperia chips could further burden a struggling car industry.

VW said it secured enough components for the coming week to keep its German plants running, though it couldn’t rule out disruption to production beyond that. For now, output isn’t affected.
