Downpours are still possible late Thursday across the New York City area with a chance of street flooding, with heavy rains expected to continue into Thursday evening and as much as 4 inches (10 centimeters) falling before the storm moves out, according to the National Weather Service. Gusting winds of more than 40 miles (64 kilometers) per hour are possible in coastal areas of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
