Trump to Name White House Aide Baasch as FTC Commissioner
President Donald Trump plans to nominate Ryan Baasch, a staffer at the National Economic Council, for a slot on the US Federal Trade Commission, according to people familiar with the matter.
Baasch, 37, would replace commissioner Melissa Holyoak, who is expected to be nominated to serve as US Attorney for Utah, the top Justice Department prosecutor in the state, said the people, who asked not to be named discussing a confidential matter. Baasch has worked on competition policy among other matters at the NEC.
