Putin Touts Russia’s Test of ‘Promising’ Nuclear-Powered Torpedo

Russia said it tested an atomic-powered torpedo drone capable of carrying nuclear weapons days after its military hailed a trial of a long-distance cruise missile.

“Yesterday, we conducted another test of another promising system: the Poseidon unmanned underwater vehicle,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday on state television. “For the first time, we were able to not only launch it from a submarine using its booster motor, but to activate its nuclear propulsion system.”
