Powell Says Rate Cut in December Is Far From Foregone Conclusion

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said another rate cut in December is not guaranteed.

“A further reduction in the policy rate at the December meeting is not a foregone conclusion, far from it,” Powell said Wednesday after officials delivered their second consecutive interest-rate reduction to support a softening labor market.
