GSK Raises Profit, Sales Outlook in Walmsley’s Last Report
GSK Plc raised its profit and sales forecasts for the year, aided by its HIV and immunology medicines, in Emma Walmsley’s last report as chief executive officer.
The British drugmaker expects earnings per share, excluding some items, to grow by up to 12% this year, compared with an earlier forecast of as much as 8%. GSK shares surged as much as 4.3% in early London trading before paring gains. The stock has outperformed peers including AstraZeneca Plc this year, rising 24%.
