Kosovo is heading for a snap election after Prime Minister Albin Kurti failed to secure enough votes to form a new government on Sunday.

Lawmakers met during the final hours of a deadline to set up a new administration, but Kurti was unable to win parliamentary approval for his proposed cabinet.
