Thailand’s Queen Mother Sirikit Dies at 93, Palace Says

Queen Sirikit, who was Thailand’s longest-serving consort, has died. She was 93.
The Queen Mother died late Friday in Bangkok after suffering from sepsis, according to a statement from the Bureau of the Royal Household. Her son, King Maha Vajiralongkorn, asked the bureau to arrange the royal funeral with the highest honors, according to the statement. The Queen Mother’s body will lie in state at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace.
