Walmart Reshuffles Key Merchandising Team Amid AI Integration

Walmart Inc. is reshuffling its merchandising team, as the big-box retailer prioritizes using more technology, data and other tools to speed up key tasks.

The retailer cut some corporate roles supporting its merchants, said people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified discussing private information. At the same time, it’s opening 130 positions on the team, one of the people said, adding that the new roles outnumber the cuts.
