The Finance Ministry projects the costs at 5.5 trillion CFA francs ($9.7 billion) in 2026, compared with a prior estimate of 4.9 trillion CFA francs, according to documents posted on the Budget Directorate’s website. Total debt-service payments over the next three years are expected to exceed earlier forecasts by 28%, reaching 14.9 trillion CFA francs.
