Syria plans to start an international roadshow in the next few months to court fresh investment from Gulf states, Europe and the US, as part of an effort to rebuild its war-battered economy.

Since the downfall of dictator Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian government has said investors are discussing billions of dollars in investments — though few of them have been finalized. Earlier this year, US President Donald Trump announced he was lifting some sanctions on Syria, easing the way for money flows into the country devastated by civil war since 2011.
