UK Housing Market Misses Autumn Bounce on Tax Woes, Survey Finds

UK home sellers barely raised their asking prices in October as buyers paused their search amid speculation that Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves will lift property taxes at the budget next month, according to a new report.

The average price of a home put up for sale gained just 0.3% to £371,422 ($498,000), property website Rightmove said Monday. It was one of the smallest increases recorded for a month when demand typically bounces back after the summer lull.
