UN Says Poor Nations Will Get Hotter Faster Than Rich Ones

The world’s poorest countries are going to get hotter more quickly than wealthier nations, and will stay that way for a longer period each year, the United Nations found in a new report that looks at how climate change is worsening global poverty.

Nations with high poverty levels will probably endure more high heat days, when temperatures are higher than 95F (35C), than those with the lowest poverty levels, according to a new study from the UN Development Programme and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative.
