UK Spends £2.1 Billion to Balance Power Grid as Renewables Surge

The National Energy System Operator spent £2.1 billion ($2.8 billion) for services that included boosting generation in some parts of the country, while dialing it down in other locations, according to data for January to September compiled by the Nuclear Industry Association.
