Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse urged the International Monetary Fund to keep up with its work on climate, as the Trump administration criticizes the lender’s approach to the topic.

In a letter to IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva this week, Whitehouse said the Washington-based Fund should continue its analysis of the “significant risks” related to climate change, citing direct impacts to the global economy.
