The Israeli army said a strike on Yemen on Aug. 28, which killed the premier of the Houthi government and other ministers, also eliminated the militant group’s chief of general staff — in what the Israel Defense Forces labeled a “severe blow.”

Muhammad Abd al-Karim al-Ghamari, who was appointed as the Houthis’ military chief in 2016, “played a key role in building the military capabilities of the Houthi terror regime, particularly in establishing its missile systems and weapons-production infrastructure,” the IDF said in a statement Thursday.
