A political stalemate over Slovakia’s central bank governor, Peter Kazimir, may enable him to keep his job until the next parliamentary election in 2027, despite a bribery conviction.

The official term of Kazimir, who also sits on the European Central Bank’s Governing Council, expired on June 1. But he’s set to stay on the job until the ruling coalition agrees on a successor.
