EasyJet Jumps on Report of Potential Takeover Bid for Airline

EasyJet Plc jumped the most in almost three years following a report that Mediterranean Shipping Co. SA is considering a bid for the budget airline alongside an investment firm.

The stock rose 12% in London trading following the Corriere della Sera report, which cited three unidentified sources familiar with the matter. Options for the bid include a full takeover of EasyJet or a majority stake, the newspaper said.
