Germany Plans to Order Another €7.5 Billion of Weapons This Week

Photographer: Andrey Rudakov/BloombergGermany is set to approve the purchase of about €7.5 billion ($8.7 billion) of military equipment as soon as this week as part of its drive to modernize its armed forces and confront the growing threat from Russia.
The package includes a €3.5 billion order for 274 armored reconnaissance vehicles from General Dynamics Corp., with Hensoldt AG and Rheinmetall AG participating in the production, according to people familiar with the matter and a government document obtained by Bloomberg. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2028.
